On Ash Wednesday, we receive blessed ashes on our heads as a symbol of our intention to change our lives and turn more toward God. This year’s Ash Wednesday schedule is:
At the Church (24 Westminster Rd.):
7:45am (Service*);
12:10pm (Mass);
6:00pm (Service);
At the Chapel (Nassau Blvd. & Hempstead Ave.):
9:00am (Mass);
5:30pm (Service);
7:30pm (Service*)
*Please note: not a Mass this year.
Due to the pandemic:
- To avoid physical contact, the ashes will be sprinkled on the top of the head and not smudged onto the forehead.
- The words for bestowing the ashes will be said only once for the whole congregation. Each person will receive the ashes in silence.
At Masses & Services, the blessing & distribution of ashes will follow the Liturgy of the Word. Please leave your donations in the receptacles provided.
