Our Ministry of Consolation lends support to parish family members at funeral masses as a greeter, reader or altar server. Members of this ministry also bring home-baked cakes to family members of those who are recently deceased to let the family know their parish is praying for them.
Most funerals are well attended by family and friends. When the deceased has only several people at his/her funeral, for whatever reason, our Ministry of Consolation is there to pray and support those in attendance. Their presence represents our parish family's love and concern at all our parish's funerals. It is a beautiful ministry in NEED of additional volunteers. There are weeks when there are no funerals, and then there are weeks when there are five or six funerals and the need for volunteers in this ministry becomes huge. Please help us help those that are grieving...God bless you!
