Lenten Living Tree

Posted on March 03, 2017 in: General News

Lent is a time of: Prayer - Fasting - Almsgiving. As we begin our Lenten journey, let us remember those in need who are suffering their crosses each and every day by taking a leaf from the Lenten Living Tree and replacing it with a flower from the basket.

As the Living Tree blooms, the flowers reflect our spiritual growth during our Lenten journey as we prepare for the Resurrection of Our Lord. Prayer: Fulfill the request on the leaf to pray for others. Pray the Lenten Daily Reflection Book. Attend daily Mass during Lent. Light a Church/Chapel candle. Fasting: Offer up a treat for those who are unable to afford one. Fast from an hour of television or social media. Remember to fast before Communion. Almsgiving: Donate a gift card listed on the leaf. Donate “pennies from heaven” to clients of Human Services. Donate your time and talents to our parish. (Stewardship)
