Palms to Ashes....Rite of Burning Palms, Saturday at 4:30
On Saturday, February 25th at 4:30pm, Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish will prepare for the beginning of Lent with rites that will produce the ashes that will be put on the foreheads of the faithful on Ash Wednesday, March 1st. The ashes are produced by burning the palms which were blessed during the previous year’s celebration of Palm Sunday.  Parishioners are asked to bring their palms to the church and chapel vestibule any time before the ceremony and deposit them into the basket provided.  Alternatively, parishioners are also invited to bring thei...

You can change the lives of up to five people with a blood donation at our Blood Drive on Sunday, March 12th.  The drive, being sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and Long Island Blood Services, takes place from 8:15am until 12:45pm.

20th Annual Community Food Drive
The West Hempstead Franklin Square Association of Girl Scouts' Twentieth Annual Community Food Drive will take place February 27th – March 12th.  Collection bins will be found in the Church and Chapel during this time period.  The food collected will be donated to St. Thomas the Apostle Human Services and Long Island Cares.
