Blessing of Candles
On February 2, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.  Following ancient Jewish custom, Mary and Joseph brought the infant Jesus to the temple forty days after his birth to present him to the Lord.  There they met Simeon and Anna, who recognized Jesus as the promised Messiah.  Simeon called Jesus a light to the Gentiles, and on this day we rejoice in the light that Jesus brings into our world.  The day is sometimes called “Candlemas,” because candles are blessed for use throughout the year.  Our Sunday Masses...

"Souper Bowl" of Caring

"Souper Bowl" of Caring
Confirmation candidates will be at the doors as you leave Mass on Satuday and Sunday, February 1st and 2nd, collecting monetary donations to help those in need on this "souper bowl" weekend.  The money will be sent to the INN - the Interfaith Nutrition Network - to help feed the hungry in our community.
