As members of the St. Thomas Parish Family, it is up to us to care for those among us who are seeking Jesus through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism Confirmation, and Eucharist). One way we show our love and support is by celebrating important moments on their journey of faith.

You will have an opportunity to do this with the unbaptized catechumens of our parish at the Rite of Anointing with the Oil of Catechumens.*  It will take place on Tuesday, January 10th at 7:30 p.m. in the Lower Church.

You are invited to stay afterwards for a special reception where you can offer your own words of encouragement and joy on behalf of our St. Thomas Family.

If you have questions or would like to let us know you are coming, contact Cindy at 516-489-8585 or [email protected].

*As Paul Turner puts it, “The oil of catechumens is the ointment of those preparing for baptism. It wards off what is evil.  It brings wisdom and strength. Think of it as Catholic bug spray, religious suntan lotion, or spiritual steroids.”
