The message of Divine Mercy is one of compassion and mercy to others through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. It is also about placing your complete trust in God when life is difficult. As we have received mercy and compassion from God, it is important to pass that on to others to form a more loving and compassionate community.
The Divine Mercy Ministry, which began in September 2007, meets in the Lower Church every 3rd Friday of the month at 7:30pm. Our Holy Hour includes readings from the Diary of St. Faustina and Scripture, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. During the year, we invite inspirational speakers to participate in our Holy Hour. Confessions are also available before the Holy Hour beginning at 6:30 pm.
The Divine Mercy Cenacle is a prayer group that meets in the Parish Library on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10-11:30am. At the Cenacle, we read from the Diary of St. Faustina, the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We focus on specific questions that help us to reflect on our daily lives.
Throughout the year, the Ministry also sponsors many events including an annual bus trip to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. We joyfully celebrate St. Faustina’s birthday each August and we contribute to the St. Thomas Human Services Ministry by donating to those in need.
We welcome new members to join our Ministry.
